Who has been the most significant person in your life so far?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for June 03, 2007:
unquestionably, my daughter. preparing to conceive, caring for her during the pregnancy, giving birth, and nurturing her ever since---priorities in life completely changed through these. to be a mother is to put another's needs before your own, always. to do a good job as a mother means that you are constantly learning. you are constantly vulnerable and infinitely strong. you learn where your own weaknesses are and you have to deal with them. more than any other relationship in my life, more than any information received through education or research, being a mother has taught me about myself, the world, interdependency, patience, persistence, connection, and most of all, what it means to love.
